In 1885, William Andrews, the Freemason who proposed the 'purse of gold' to GMT during a time of financial hardship and member of Hull Literary Society, published George and Elizabeth Tweddell in his Modern Yorkshire poets in 1885 along with a short bio of each. It's a great document of poets of both sexes who were writing in Yorkshire in that time and the whole book can be read on line or downloaded here Click in the left sidebar to read on line or download the pdf file. http://archive.org/details/cu31924013510031
The material below in the pdf file gives a biographic sketch of both George and Elizabeth Tweddell with full poems and extracts of other longer poems. Andrews draws attention to the more egalitarian nature of the couples relationship and Elizabeth's own fame as a poet.
